LaCie is inspired by Blade Runner and announces new cases 5Big

LaCie already offers long series of external enclosures 5Big which has five slots for hard drives 3.5, but two new versions are announced at the CES.5Big Nas Pro: LaCie goes second with a 2.13 Atom GHzNous have first Pro NAS which is reminiscent 5Big Network 2, but with a completely redesigned hardware part and corrected. Indeed, it is now run by an Intel Atom processor clocked at 2.13 GHz (model not specified) which is supported by 4 GB of DDR3. The connectivity includes two USB 2.0 ports, two USB 3.0 ports, two gigabit network ports and a VGA port. The function of the latter has not been disclosed, but it could be to exploit the CPU integrated graphics as already Thecus QNAP example. Transfer rates advertised are relatively attractive: 194 MB / s read and 110MB / s write for RAID 5 and up to 210 MB / s and 150 MB / s in RAID 0. Several versions are available: € 499 for the Pro NAS 5Big naked € 1079 with 10 TB (5x2 TB) and € 1919 with 20 TB (5x4 TB). The manufacturer offers a three-year warranty on these modèles.LaCie 5Big Thunderbolt Series: 20TB of storage with speeds of 785 MB / sToujours 5Big in the series, LaCie Thunderbolt now offer a version capable of holding rates up until 785 MB / s read and 695 MB / s write. The chassis is the same as NAS Pro, but the connection does not include more than two Thunderbolt ports. It will not against proposed by naked and it will therefore pay € 1,059 minimum version 10TB (5x 2TB) and € 1,919 for the 20TB (5x 4TB). For once, this is the connection to the flash which is slightly cheaper.
