Deutsche Post expects a 2013 "not easy"

FRANCFORT (Reuters) - Deutsche Post warns that 2013 will be "not easy," the weakness of the global economy have an impact on the demand for prompt deliveries and other services logistiques.< / p>

"Economic volatility likely to remain important," said Larry Rosen Monday, CFO of German postal group in a presentation to investors in New York. But he added that Deutsche Post was poised to strengthen its market position this année.

The leading European mail should provide more specific targets for 2013 with the publication of its annual results on 5 mars.

Larry Rosen said that Deutsche Post had achieved its objectives for 2012 with an operating profit of between 2.6 and 2.7 billion euros, adding that he was "very satisfied" with the year écoulée.

According to him, the parcel delivery market is expected to grow between 5% and 7% per year through 2020, driven by e-commerce which should account for 20% of purchases in this horizon against 7% actuellement.

Larry Rosen also stated that Deutsche Post should be able to achieve its target of earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) of between 3.5 and 3.55 billion euros in 2015.

"We are fully on track," he ajouté.
